I aim to capture unusual aspects of the city environment and am interested in the decay and renewal of urban space. I work in various mediums including watercolour, acrylic, lino print and etching.
My work records the changing face of the city environment. The demolition, the rebuilding, the restoration and the altered skylines. I am fascinated by the transient moments where reflections shimmer and fracture in the windows, puddles and canals. The distortions and blurring created in this way create a mysterious and unusual view of these everyday scenes. At dusk the scene transforms into an explosion of lights and colour. My paintings and prints record the fleeting and ever changing aspects of our environment.
